Carly and Sams micro wedding at Treseren
Back at the end of May I had the pleasure of shooting Sam and Carly’s micro wedding at the picturesque location of Treseren. Nestled away in the Cornish countryside Treseren is the perfect wedding venue for those wanting a more intimate and secluded setting. Adhereing to Covid rules it was a very small guest list which fitted in perfect to allow the couple to make all the little touches a much more personal and tailored affair.

The small wedding style makes it very personal and relaxing and in turn sharing time with guests much easier than with a huge wedding, this is something that Carly and Sam were very drawn too when planning the day. The only prerequisite when photographing the day was ‘Fun’ Cliche i know but how could it not be with 2 massive Dogue de Bordeaux dogs in bow ties ( Have you ever been slobbered on by 2 excited giants when trying to get that money shot!) and guests sporting bright fluro sunglasses! Formal photos were kept to a minimum with a more reportage style shoot documenting every part of the day upto the cutting of the cake.

The main home Sheppards House is a beautiful Georgian residence styled by the organiser and owners Emma and Paul Caddis. The rooms are beautifully styled in modern Chic with touches of antique, the master bedroom is a brides dream to get ready in with a gorgeous chaise lounge to dreamly look out the double aspect windows into the gardens below. The Gardens surround the house at all angles and are also kept in character with that secret Gardenesque atmosphere, there nooks and crannys everywhere with amazing flower and fauna at every turn. Treseren has several options for the ceremony inside and out weather dependant and Sam and Carly chose to go with the Large shaded Walnut tree in the side Garden which they decorated elegantly with flower arrangements and hanging crystal chandeliers put together by local flower company Brookside Flowers .

Treseren is definatley one of the best venues in the county for that small intimate wedding and Boutique style accomadation. This being highlighted by the fact they won ‘Best wedding venue of the year South West’ for 2021 back in February. Weddings in Cornwall have always been very popular and even more now with smaller weddings being the go during Covid times, Treseren have had the jump on this, having started smaller micro style weddings a few years ago which in turn has given them time to perfect the little things some venues are struggling with having down sized for the wedding restrictions.
For myself as the photographer it was a delight to photograph having so many options for scenery and backdrops through out the setting with the flora and fauna, shaded trees, elegant doorways, grand stair cases, the list goes on. So on your day Just let go and have fun with family and friends dont worry about the logistics enjoy the moment and trust your photographer.
